About Us

At Companion vet care we strive to provide holistic, personal home care to your beloved pets in the comfort of your own home.

Dr Lientjie observed a growing need for veterinary home visits. With today’s lifestyle, we are all so busy which has made it more difficult to pick up and take our pets to a clinic. This is even more difficult when repeated visits are required. This is where owner compliance becomes an issue, not because they don’t care but more because of the time and stress it takes. Pets also get stressed with travelling which makes it harder for you as the owner.

Companion vet care is a fully equipped mobile clinic that will come and consult at your home. Please check on our services page for what we are able to assist with. The clinic is registered with the South African Veterinary Council. We have limited our service area to 3 main Estates – Serengeti Estates, Eastlands Mature Estate and Dunblane Equestrian Estate.

About Dr Lientjie

Dr Lientjie is married to Craig and has 2 kids, Tristan and Kaylee. Dr Lientjie has a special love for Bull Terriers. She understands this breed and adores their own unique tendencies. She graduated from Onderstepoort in 2007. Dr Lientjie has cared for cats and dogs in the Benoni area for the last 12 years. She is passionate about high standard animal health care. She strives to create a personal bond with her patients.

Payment is required at the consultation. We do have mobile credit card facilities available.

Routine health care

We provide routine health checks including vaccinations, internal and external parasite treatments, microchipping and nail clippings.

Dental care

Dental day procedures can be booked. Dental scale and polish are performed as well as dental extractions if needed. We also sell dental care products.

Geriatric assessments

older pets need biyearly assessments and bloods to monitor organ function and response to treatments. We send bloodwork to the nearest lab for assessment.

Radiographs and Ultrasound

If a patient requires radiographs or ultrasound for further more comprehensive work up, we liase with a practice nearby and a specialist ultrasonographer that will provide the necessary service to make sure of optimum diagnostics.

Surgery

We liase with a nearby practice for more complicated surgical procedures and treatments. Transport to and from the practice will be provided as convenience to the owners. Small surgical procedures can be performed at home.

Chronic medications

can be delivered on a routine basis at your home. Please contact us 24 hours in advance to assure stock availability.

Pet sitting

We provide pet sitting services to all our clients to ensure a carefree holiday for you as owner. We give daily updates and will contact you if any medical attention if needed.

Euthanasia

This is the hardest aspect of being a pet owner. Being able to perform this at home, it helps in making your pet feel more comfortable and in the environment they know. Taking your pet to a clinic at this point is so stressful and heartsore, the mobile unit will try and assist in trying to make it a little easier. We can help with your pets after, including cremation and Memorialization.
